Romania Assesses its Shale Reserves, October 19, 2014

Some of Europe’s largest shale natural gas reserves sit in Romania. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates the country has 51 trillion cubic feet of gas – enough to cover its domestic needs for more than a century. That potential is particularly significant now as the nation looks to reduce its reliance on Russian gas supplies. But will Romania take its fuel to market any time soon?
